One of the handier features of Cortana is the ability to synthesize your location, calendar and traffic information and remind you when it is time to leave so you are still in time to reach your appointment.
To get Cortana to remind you, all you need to add a recognizable address to your appointments in your calendar. It will also remind you automatically based on your learned routine, but this is of course less predictable.
