webOS users must be furious at Microsoft for stealing their Tap to Share trademark and functionality, but I am sure everything will be worked out in the end.

In the above clip from today’s BUILD Windows 8 keynote we have a demo of Near Field Communication (NFC) on Windows 8, where a tap with a NFC-enabled card transfers a URL to Windows 8, which is then able to act on it.

The technology is expected to find more use in when NFC-enabled phones become available, possible even running Windows Phone 7 😉
