Okta, a leading enterprise identity vendor, today released a new Google Chrome browser plugin that makes it easy for users to discover in real-time if a password they’re using has been exposed in a data breach. When a user enters a password inside a website, this new PassProtect plugin quickly alerts user of unsafe passwords so that user can take immediate action without compromising privacy. PassProtect plugin uses HaveIBeenPwned database to compare user’s passwords against the leaks. Since it uses k-anonymity, passwords are never seen, stored, or sent over the network during this checking process.

You can download the extension for free from Chrome Store here.
