Microsoft today introduced a new Office 365 service: Outlook Customer Manager. As the name implies, the new Office 365 service essentially allows users to keep track of their customers and get all the data about a certain customer in one place. Outlook Customer Manager is mostly targeted towards small businesses who don’t really need the power of a full-fledged CRM like Dynamics 365.
Outlook Customer Manager will be integrated right into Outlook’s desktop apps, and it’ll also have a dedicated a mobile app. On Outlook Customer Manager, businesses will be able to add tasks for a certain customer, keep track of the deals, as well as the upcoming meetings. The service also has a neat little view where users can see all the tasks and other things they need to finish with a certain customer on a day.

Another neat feature of Outlook Customer Manager is that it can be accessed easily on Outlook. For instance, when you get an email from a customer asking about a project you’re working on for them, you can simply click on their profile and Outlook Customer Manager will be able to show a bunch of data about the customer on the sidebar.
Outlook Customer Manager is the latest addition to Office 365 for small business to help them keep track of their customers and business meetings. The software giant recently introduced Bookings, which is also a service targeted towards small businesses that aims to streamline the process of booking appointments.
Similar to Bookings, Outlook Customer Manager is only available to those part of Office 365’s First Release program. The service will initially be able to Office 365 Business Premium users, but Microsoft could be bringing it to subscribers of the E3 and E5 plans. The dedicated mobile app for Outlook Customer Manager is only available on iOS, but it should be available on Android when the service is generally available.
