Microsoft today announced that the company’s default browser in Windows 10 is being used by more than 330 million users. Microsoft Edge was being used on 150 million active devices back at last year’s Microsoft Edge Web Summit in April. Today at this year’s Microsoft Edge Web Summit, Microsoft announced the new 330 million figure.
“A lot of improvements and a lot of new features doesn’t really mean anything if no one’s using it. I’m really thrilled to announced today that, earlier this month, Microsoft Edge passed over 330 million active devices worldwide. This number has more than doubled since the Edge summit last year. So we’re pretty humbled by this number because there actual users who are browsing the web through our browser, and more importantly, what they’re browsing through Edge is the sites and apps that you build,” said Microsoft’s Chris Morris.
Microsoft Edge is still way behind its competition, especially with Google’s Chrome browser powering more than a billion users and Mozilla Firefox powering half a billion users.
