Microsoft WiFi

Microsoft already offers a WiFi service under their Skype brand. Skype WiFi allows users to get instant WiFi internet access using Skype Credit at over 1 million WiFi hotspots worldwide. Now, Microsoft seems to rebranding this service as Microsoft WiFi. Microsoft WiFi will have coverage at over 10 million hotspots across 130 countries, including airports, hotels, restaurants, and other public spaces. Microsoft WiFi will be an added benefit to office 365 Enterprise, so organizations can keep employees connected and productive wherever they are in the world.

Microsoft WiFi is currently available to the following customers:

  • Active Skype WiFi subscribers (through the Microsoft Work & Play Bundle or the Surface 2 + Skype WiFi Bundle)
  • Employees of organizations with Microsoft Office 365 for Enterprise
  • Customers who received a special WiFi offer from Microsoft

Microsoft WiFi app will be available on all different platforms including Windows, Mac, Windows Phone, iOS and Android. Once you’re all setup, getting connected to WiFi is simple. Locate WiFi spots near you using the interactive map and you’ll automatically be connected to the internet. The draft website of this service is now live at microsoftwifi.com.
