Just earlier this week, Microsoft had a pretty big education-related event in New York City. The company will have another set of huge, mostly software-related announcements at its annual developer conference, Build, next week. But there’s yet another Microsoft event happening later this month.
Microsoft today sent us an invite to an event that’s happening on May 23rd, which you can see above. The event is simply called the #MicrosoftEvent — and Microsoft Surface’s Panos Panay will be there, too.

Interestingly, the #MicrosoftEvent is happening in Shanghai this time around which is quite odd as Microsoft usually holds major new device launches in New York City. However, it isn’t exactly clear what Microsoft plans on unvelling at the event. It is possible we will see the new Surface Pro 5 at the event, which actually got the China Compulsory Certificate back in April. Microsoft’s CPV of its Windows & Devices Group also recently mentioned that a Surface Pro 4 refresh might be coming soon, so there’s that.
We’ll likely have a lot more details on what exactly Microsoft plans on releasing at the event in the coming weeks, so stay tuned for that. Microsoft will possibly live stream the event later this month, although that hasn’t been confirmed yet.
