Microsoft moved to USB Type C on its Surface devices this year, and now Apple is following suit with the launch of the new iPad pro according to a report from analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.

The iPad Pro will feature Face ID and slimmed down bezels, an Apple will add a new 18W USB-C charger to the device. This will not be a dongle or any kind of accessory, Apple is instead going All in on USB C to bring the iPad family in line with the MacBook line.

Apple has stuck to its own proprietary connectors on the iOS device line that this is the first time that the firm is opening up, at least a little. Apple is also rumoured to launch new iPhones this week as well. Instead of the iPhone XS and XS Plus, we’ll reportedly be getting the iPhone XS, XS Max and XR/XC/Whatever it’ll be called.

We will learn more about Apple’s new device launch on Wednesday.
