Recently, we reported that Amazon’s Windows Phone will be retired on July 25. This means, after July 25, users won’t be able to find the app on the Windows Store, or install it. However, if you have the app installed and want to use it, you will be able to access it until 15th August. After August 15, the app will no longer be accessible. Instead, the company is recommending users to use its website which provides a poor experience. In a statement to its customers, the company stated:

Our records indicate that you have previously installed the Amazon App for Windows Phone from the Microsoft App Store. We will be retiring the app you currently have on your device, meaning its contents will no longer be updated. You will still have access to the app until 15 August, 2016. We encourage you to visit Amazon.co.uk on your mobile browser where you will have access to our newest shopping features and customer experience.

We look forward to seeing you again soon.

This is definitely a very sad news, considering the fact that a lot of people use Amazon to order things online. It isn’t yet known if Amazon plans to launch a new app for Windows 10, but could certainly happen as the company recently launched an Extension for Microsoft’s Edge browser on Windows 10. As per usual, we will let you know once and if that happens, but for now, you’ll just have to use the company’s website.
