Yahoo Mail Windows 10

Yahoo has decided 500 million Windows 10 users are not enough justification for keeping an official app in the Windows Store.

The mail app is currently notifying Windows 10 users that it is being discontinued on the 22nd May, and “going forward” users should “please check your email in any web browser on your computer”.

The decision is somewhat odd, given that the app was never more than simply a wrapper for their website, in any case, simply adding lock screen notifications and live tiles.

The app only arrived in September 2015, but given the company’s impending sale to Verizon and all their security issues, it may be that Yahoo has simply decided to refocus their attentions elsewhere.
