Xbox is now the official console partner for Real Madrid

Today, Microsoft announced that Xbox is the official console partner of 5-time world champion football team, Real Madrid. With many of their players in the global spotlight, it’s easy to see why Real Madrid is one of the most widely supported teams in the world. And to kick off Real Madrid’s Summer Tour here in the United States, Microsoft are partnering up to invite fans to join in a variety of events across the states, and even win the chance to see them play live in a match.

As the Real Madrid Summer Tour begins, the Microsoft Century City California store will engage local youth groups in Minecraft coding alongside Real Madrid players. Empowering youth through passion for sport is an important aspect of their partnership with the Real Madrid Foundation. In parallel, exposure to technology and coding skills can enable access to a better future. Coupled with the values, skills and leadership one learns from sports, technology and gaming can be a powerful partnership to empower and bring about social change.

Microsoft Stores will also host free FIFA 17 tournaments, where fans can compete for a chance to win tickets to a local Real Madrid match. FIFA 17 tournaments will take place Friday, July 21 and Saturday, July 22 at the following locations:

• Microsoft Store at Westfield Valley Fair in Santa Clara
• Microsoft Store at Westfield Century City in Los Angeles
• Microsoft Store at Dadeland Mall in Miami
• Microsoft Store at Oakbrook Center in Oak Brook

Most importantly, the flagship Microsoft Store on Fifth Avenue in New York City will host a special Real Madrid FIFA 17 Fan Tournament, where participants will compete for an exclusive grand prize. The preliminary round will take place Friday, July 21 with a championship round on Saturday, July 22 in the Mixer Studio. As always, you can watch the action on Mixer.
