- Xbox Game Pass may also make its ways to Switch 2.
Xbox boss Phil Spencer is such a big fan of Nintendo Switch 2 – so much so that he’s opening up Xbox games to be playable on the handheld console. It’s now official, following weeks-old rumors.
Speaking during an episode of the Gamertag Radio podcast, Spencer said that he’s looking forward to supporting Nintendo’s next-gen console. He also said that previously Xbox-exclusive games may soon make their way to the Switch 2.
Details of the titles of these Xbox games are still scarce for the time being, but previous reports suggest that fan-favorite titles like Halo: The Master Chief Collection and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 could be making their way to the console.
While Microsoft has previously expressed interest in bringing its Game Pass service to Switch and PlayStation, the Switch 2’s hardware capabilities might now make it a more viable destination for some of Xbox’s most popular franchises.
Nintendo has yet to officially announce the full lineup of games for its next-gen console. But, it is expected that the Japanese gaming giant will showcase new titles, including a new Mario Kart game, during a Switch 2-focused Nintendo Direct presentation in April 2025.
And it’s not Microsoft’s first time in bringing its games to rival platforms. Minecraft and two Ori games are already available on the original Nintendo Switch, which lays the groundwork for even more Xbox games making the jump to the Switch 2.
