Everyone expected the Xbox Game Pass test to end at the beginning of April but it looks like Microsoft has extended it by a month. The technical test is now available to Ring 3 Insiders who have access to around 30 games for free before it concludes on April 28. For those who don’t know, Xbox Game Pass is Microsoft’s Netflix-like subscription service which gives members access to over 100 Xbox One and Xbox 360 games. Unlike PlayStation Now, gamers can download the titles to their hard drive and play for as long as they want without having to worry about streaming and other issues with online connectivity. The pass will cost $10 per month when it launches later this spring.
One aspect about Xbox Game Pass to keep in mind is that some games will rotate in and out of the program. If you want to keep certain titles forever, you have to purchase them. The good news is that all games will be discounted for Xbox Game Pass subscribers so purchasing them comes with a little perk. While we don’t have a complete list of titles yet, it’s widely expected that many heavy-hitters will be available at launch.
