On November 20, 1985, Microsoft released the first version of Windows. Today, Windows turns 30.
Windows 1.0 was the successor of MS-DOS and since then, the software giant has released several versions of Windows. The company’s latest Windows is fantastic, and it’s also apparently the last version of Windows. In the last 30 years, Microsoft has released a few versions of Windows, including Windows 95, XP, Vista, 7 and of course, 10:
- Windows 1.0 (1985)
- Windows 2.0 (1987)
- Windows 3.x (1990, 1992)
- Windows 95 (1995)
- Windows 98 (1998)
- Windows 2000 (2000)
- Windows ME (2000)
- Windows XP (2001)
- Windows Vista (2006)
- Windows 7 (2009)
- Windows 8 (2012)
- Windows 8.1 (2013)

Happy birthday, Windows!
