The Voxel Agents, developers of the smash hit Train Conductor series, have launched their award winning title ‘Puzzle Retreat’ on Windows Phone 8. Puzzle Retreat has been downloaded more than 2.5 million times throughout the year over all platforms.

For this long awaited release, Puzzle Retreat has been customised for the Windows Phone platform, with new features that will be made available for this update.

‘We’ve been really excited to customise Puzzle Retreat for Windows Phone. The Live Tiles help you pick up where you left off, and gets you in the mood for some puzzles. We also wanted to improve the experience with a couple simple adjustments, like making a special reward for completing each puzzle.’ says Creative Director Simon Joslin.

For this long awaited release, Puzzle Retreat has been updated with additional features that Windows Phone 8 users can enjoy ahead of other platforms.

Puzzle Retreat now  utilizes  Live Tiles that update based on the last Level Pack the player has visited. Beautiful background art in the game behaves similarly.

Level Completion is much more satisfying for players when they solve each puzzle, with  visuals and sound effects that are unique to each Level Pack.

Puzzle Retreat is a unique block sliding puzzle game that fuses elements from Sudoku and Sokoban to create a whole new challenge for puzzle lovers. With just two rules that dictate gameplay, Puzzle Retreat is incredibly easy to learn but at the same time compellingly deep. Players slide blocks to fill holes in a grid. They must fill all the holes and use all the blocks.

The challenge is in determining a correct sequence to slide the blocks. With the addition of special blocks such as the Fire Blocks and Stop Blocks and the special Bonsai tree, Puzzle Retreat provides a perfect learning curve for puzzle veterans and those new to the puzzle experience.image

Puzzle Retreat has received the Casual Connect Asia’s Top 10 Indie Prize Award and Game Connect Asia Pacific’s Accessibility Award. It has also been nominated for Freeplay’s Design Award, Freeplay’s Visual Art Award and Game Connect Asia Pacific’s Excellence In Design.

Puzzle Retreat is free and can be found in the Windows Phone Store here.
