ce5 Windows Mobile power users may know that Windows Mobile 6 is built on the Windows CE 5.0  kernel.  When shipped natively it comes with the Windows CE 5 Explorer shell, which looks very similar to Windows 95.

Intrepid ROM hacker No2chem has had enough of Windows Mobile pretending to be a mobile OS, and wanted to unleash the whole power of the OS by running the much more desktop-like Win CE shell. After some hacking around he seems to have managed it, getting the shell up and running on a HTC Titan. While it looks a bit cramped, imagine this on a delicious 800×480 Xperia or Touch Pro 2 screen!

The hack has not been released yet, but it should come pretty soon, after some bugs with the phone software (of course, what else) is sorted.
