Here’s a harsh reminder. The end of life of certain versions of Windows 11 21H2 version — Home and Pro — is coming soon next month. So, you may want to back up your bag and update your operating system.

The end of servicing will be effective starting from October 10, 2023. This means that these editions will no longer receive monthly security and preview updates after that date.

The upcoming October 2023 security update, to be released on October 10, 2023, will be the last update available for this version. Users who continue to use these editions after October 10, 2023, will be at increased risk of security vulnerabilities.

“To help keep you protected and productive, Windows Update will automatically initiate a feature update for Windows 11 consumer devices and non-managed business devices that are at, or within several months of reaching, end of servicing,” says Microsoft.

Enterprise, Education, IoT Enterprise, and Enterprise multi-session editions for this version will reach the end of servicing on October 8, 2024, and will receive security updates until then.

So, if you’re still on the 21H2 version, maybe it’s the best time for you to upgrade to 22H2 a.k.a. Moment 2. After all, what’s not to love about it? This version has improved security, new features, and more AI-powered capabilities, such as Windows Copilot that’s gonna come in 23H2, which is still in development but is expected to be released to the general public soon.
