Microsoft released Windows 10 Build 15019 to Windows Insiders in the Fast Ring yesterday. Windows 10 picked up a couple of new gaming features and more with the release of build 15019. Unfortunately though, some Insiders may not be able to download and install the latest build due to an issue in Windows 10. According to Microsoft, the problem prevents users from installing the build as Windows Update gets stuck on the “Initializing” step.

Thankfully, Microsoft has provided a fix for the issue which you can follow to fix Windows Update. Here’s what you need to do:

  • Click the Start button
  • Type services and launch the Services panel
  • Scroll to Windows Update
  • Right-click and select Stop
  • Restart your PC
  • Re-check for updates
  • The update should proceed as expected

The above steps will essentially stop Windows Update on your device, and once you restart it, it should be able to download build 15019 successfully and install.
