Skype’s new support forum has some great info about the new Skype beta in the Marketplace. However, it also reveals some information about multitasking (or the lack thereof) in Skype’s future.

In Skype’s post announcing the beta, they make it seem as if the final Skype app will not support multitasking and push notifications.

Skype for Windows Phone does not run in the background, thus you will not be able to receive incoming calls and chats if Skype is not in foreground

For other features, like conference calling, Skype says that they are “not yet possible”, but for receiving a call when not actively in Skype, it is simply “not possible”.

Make your voice heard on Skype’s forums, and ensure that they add push notifications!
