The very popular instant messaging client WhatsApp has just been updated to version 2.9.2 . The update brings some small, but useful, changes like a back up function or even a broadcast feature (which I could not test so far). It also adds a new live tile in all three sizes and HD resolution support. There is also a new re-designed attachments screen and also Lock screen notification support.

Unfortunately the music controls still appear after closing the app, let’s hope this will get fixed soon as Windows Phone does finally support WiFi in standby

WhatsApp was criticized very much due to its bad Windows Phone support. Users were complaining off bugs and glitches which just did not get fixed. However they have been releasing a steady stream of updates which is finally bringing the apps closer to its iOS and Android counterparts.

Download the update here.
