The reveal of Valve’s all-new VR video game, Half-Life: Alyx, has lead the Valve Index VR headset to sell out.
With the gaming company finally unveiling their long-awaited VR flagship title, gamers have finally given in to the promise of VR immersion. It’s been a long time coming: with Valve attempting to break into a larger VR crowd they have immediately given weight of the platform.
In an article by RoadToVR, it’s been revealed that the Valve Index VR headset – which will give all owners a free copy of Half-Life: Alyx – has sold out in the US and Canada.
Those who really wish to get their hands on Valve’s high-end VR headset will still be able to put orders down for the headset. Gamers who order the hardware now should still be able to get their hands on the headset before Christmas Day. That’s a pricey Christmas present!
If you want to buy yourself one of Valve’s fancy headsets, it will set you back by a whopping $999/£919. That’s a kick in the wallet! Of course, that bundle comes with the headset, two controllers and two base stations. If you want to get the system without the base stations then it’s just£689! The headset on its own is £459!
