US Justice Department is currently investigating Google for alleged antitrust violations. Yesterday, Politico reported that US government may force Google to sell its popular Chrome browser and parts of its advertising business. Chrome is an integral part of Google and it is currently the No.1 web browser on both desktop and mobile with a dominant market share. I think Google will vigorously oppose US Justice Department’s plans.

When it comes to discussions about how to resolve Google’s dominant position on the global market for digital advertising, the Justice Department has not yet made its final decisions. Justice Department is also preparing a separate antitrust suit against Google for abusing its search engine market share.
