CNET, writing about Microsoft’s recent release of sales numbers, also quotes Greg Sullivan, senior product manager for Windows Phone 7, saying there are two updates coming for Windows Phone 7 in the first half of this year.

The first update, in "the next few months", has already been announced and will bring cut and paste and faster loading times.

The second update, which will bring CDMA support for Sprint and Verizon is planned for release in "the first half".  This appears separate from the Mango update rumoured for the second half of the year, suggesting despite the apparent slow pace we will see quite a bit of update activity this year.

Update: Owen from Neowin writes us with some extra info:

Just wanted to let you know that the article regarding "two updates’ for WP7 is incorrect, partially. There will be indeed two updates, but CDMA is coming as part of the first update. This is due out late Feb / Early March. The reason the update is so late is due to the CDMA support.
