The weather outside may be hot*, but the Crystal and Steel Black DUALSHOCK 4 wireless controllers are even hotter. That’s right – two of PlayStation’s best looking controllers are making a limited time comeback.

The Crystal edition features a fancy partially-translucent outer shell, giving you a sneak peek at the inner workings of your controller. Spoiler alert: It’s mostly just circuitry.

I say ‘partially-translucent’ as, sadly, the back of the controller has a solid white shell. Ah, well, you can’t have everything. Except for these two controllers. Because, you know, they’re coming back for a limited run.

The Steel Black variant comes in a nice steel-grey variant on the front with a black shell on the back. Its sleek and refined exterior may look similar to the basic DUALSHOCK 4 controller, but the Steel Black controller has a fine metallic polish that sets it apart.

As with all DUALSHOCK 4 controllers, both variants are wireless and have USB battery charging. They also have the standard features of the light bar, built-in speakers, stereo headset jack, and motion sensors.

Both controllers are also compatible with most PCs so even if you don’t own a PlayStation 4, you can still get in on the action. Just be aware that you might need to download a program such as DS4Windows in order to get your controller working at its best.

The Crystal and Steel Black DUALSHOCK 4 controllers will be available for purchase from the official PlayStation website from the 29th of July. Both are fan favourites, so you’ll probably want to snap one up fast before they’re gone again. I know I have my eye on the Crystal variant!
