Twitter has updated their poorly supported Windows 10 app (which still had the 140 character limit for example) to a Progressive Web App (PWA) on Windows 10 for users on RS4 (meaning only Insiders at present).

The web app is identical to the website, but does support notifications, with more improvements expected later.

The web app should mean the app is now constantly up to date and should require little resources to maintain. PWAs are expected to become increasingly important for Windows due to this, with Microsoft expected to ingest these web apps directly into the store to boost app numbers.

Insiders can download the new web app from the store here.
