Gaming’s biggest week each year has always been when E3 hits Los Angeles. Well, how do we declare who won the conference? Well, firstly, who had the most discussed announcements. Secondly, whose event was viewed the most. Well, Twitch is the best source for that because everyone tunes into the streaming service for the briefings. If you look at statistics, Microsoft’s conference was the most-watch event with the most concurrent viewers. A report by GitHyp who analyze gaming statistics said:

“This year, it was Microsoft’s Xbox One X…that was the key to winning E3 2017 based on viewer counts. Looking at Twitch’s peak viewer counts over the past week of E3, Microsoft’s E3 2017 briefing was the clear winner with over 1.1 million concurrent viewers–up 34% when compared to last year. Sony…placed…in third…right behind Ubisoft.”

This is definitely great news for Microsoft because reaching as many gamers with the Xbox One X announcement was vital in their message. Xbox One X is designed to win back third-party gamers so that they prefer the system over the PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 4 Pro. The Xbox One is regarded as a weak console and Microsoft definitely washed away that stigma from the brand on June 11. Hopefully they’ll continue to hammer in the message up until November 7.
