The rating, which can also be viewed here on PEGI’s website, was found by Wario64 on Twitter. Night Dive Studios—the studio behind the upcoming System Shock remake—released a remastered version of Turok for PC in 2015, with an announcement the following year that it would eventually come to Xbox One. It appears that date is coming up soon. Though the information provided from the rating doesn’t give an actual release date (the release date lists today’s date, which is likely when it was filed), we can assume this indicates its imminent release.
Both Turok 1 and 2 were remastered by Night Dive Studios with improved graphics, gameplay, and level design as well as dynamic lighting, bloom, FXAA, enhanced water effects, light shafts, and more. The rating does not indicate whether both titles are bundled in the same package or if it’s just for the first remaster.
The latest Turok game—aside from remasters—to release in the series came out almost 10 years ago in 2008. Simply titled Turok, it followed a similar gameplay structure to previous releases in the franchise however it was unrelated to the story or setting. It released on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The series has yet to make its way to current-gen platforms.
Turok is a series set in a primitive world filled with dinosaurs and other threats. As the first release was titled Turok: Dinosaur Hunter, you can probably guess what you’re supposed to do.
You can check out Turok and Turok 2: Seeds of Evil on Steam. Both are currently on sale.
