Frozenbyte has made quite a few Trine games. Three of them! Now, they’re back for a fourth! There’s an introductory sentence for ya.
The fourth entry will be titled Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince and will release next year on Xbox One, PC, PS4 and Nintendo Switch. If all three other entries in the series are anything to go by, this should be another co-operative puzzle platformer.

That’s not to say that Frozenbyte is completely predictable. The developer saw some backlash with the series’ third entry back in 2015, which swapped the traditional 2.5D style for a fully 3D one. Maybe they’ll return to the franchise’s roots, or maybe they’ll try and improve on the mistakes of Trine 4’s predecessor.
In the game’s official press release, Frozenbyte CEO Lauri Hyvärinen said, “Trine 4 is going to be the best in the series. We have rekindled our love for the franchise, heard and seen the fan feedback, and our hearts are set on exceeding those expectations. Trine is back!”
