Last week at IFA, both Wileyfox and Trekstor showcased two lacklustre Windows 10 Mobile powered handsets . While Wileyfox’s was a cynical cashgrab at best, Trekstor’s own handset actually seemed like a decent effort to brighten up the dying Windows phone market. It featured a Snapdragon 617, 3GB of RAM, a 5inch screen and 16 GB of internal storage. It would be a decent low-mid range phone, if it were coming to market.

It seems that while the device was indeed one that exists, Trekstor doesn’t intend to sell this handset at this point. It also appears that reports of a sales and pricing strategy were due to a misunderstanding.

To recap, the handset will not be coming to market, and Trekstor has no concrete plans to change that at the moment. With the state of Windows 10 Mobile being–whatever it is–perhaps it is the best for all involved.
