It has come to our attention that Daniel Rubino, Editor in Chief of WindowsCentral.com, has been badmouthing WMPoweruser.com over the last few weeks, variously calling the website “shitty” and crap.
We are not sure what the source of the animosity is, except that we also regularly post Windows Phone news and are the second largest Windows Phone website, despite not being backed by a massive online store, Mobile Nations, which has shipped more than 3 million products.
While Daniel has regularly commented on the credibility of WMPoweruser, we have to note that when we make a claim, we link to the source, and readers can make up their own mind whether to believe it or not. Not everyone has a direct line to moles inside of Microsoft, which is probably a good thing.
Unlike WindowsCentral, we are happy to promote and surface smaller Windows Phone fan sites from around the world, and allow them to reach a larger audience with their exclusives, such as MonWindowsPhone with their Candy Crush news, which readers of this website would have heard about yesterday rather than 24 hours later via the WC.
Now of course we know Daniel’s anger and attitude has not been reserved for WMPoweruser, with him variously going after Nokia Power User and often simply commenters on his own website and twitter. It suggests to us that he may be a man with a problem, possibly some kind of personality disorder, but I am sure this is not the image Mobile Nations wants to portray.
With that in mind, we of course forgive Daniel his statements, and hope he gets the help he, as a Windows Phone veteran and contributor, certainly deserve, while we pledge to continue bringing our readers the latest Windows Phone news, views and reviews from around the world, no matter what names we are called.
