Microsoft’s Rob Chambers has created an app which demonstrates how easy it is to integrate voice control in a Windows Phone 8 app.

With Tivo Command you can control your network enabled TiVo directly from your WiFi connected Windows Phone.

The app automatically finds all your network enabled TiVo devices on your network and uses voice commands for quick and easy access to your favourite channels, upcoming episode information, or to schedule new recordings. You can even find movie ratings on IMDB, Flixster, and Netflix by voice.

Tivo Command works with all TiVo DVRs that offer network based remote control access, such as the TiVo Series 3, TiVo HD, and TiVo Premiere.

The app demonstrates Voice Commands API Reference, Speech Recognition API Reference and the Speech Synthesis API Reference, and Rob will be tearing apart the code and showing developer step by step how to add voice control to their own apps.

The free app can be found in the Windows Phone Store here, and developers can follow Rob’s master class here.

Thanks Digeratti for the tip.
