Thomas Nigro, the developer for VLC player on Windows and Windows Phone, just confirmed that he is bringing a Smart DJ like feature to VLC player.

For those who don’t know, Smart DJ was a feature on the Zune software which made it very easy to find and play music based on similar artists, genre’s, and other factors.

Thomas also tweeted that this would work with local files only. I am very excited to see this coming to VLC player and while he only specified it coming to the desktop version, we can hope to see it on our phones as well soon.
