OnePlus is known for refreshing its so-called “flagship killer” every six months and the company wants to carry that forward in the future as well.

OnePlus is going to launch its upcoming flagship the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro in the second quarter of 2020, sticking to its six-month release cycle, according to Max J, a very reliable leaker on Twitter.

Q2 2020 also means it could release between April-June, but if you go back in time, OnePlus has been releasing its “flagship killer” in the month of May for the last two years — both OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 7 series of smartphones were launched in the month of May. And the company could continue to follow the tradition of releasing new OnePlus smartphones in May with OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro.

Like the OnePlus 7 Pro and 7T series, the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro will have curved edges, the size of the display panel of the 8 Pro is tipped to be 6.65-inch, slightly bigger than the 6.5-inch panel on the OnePlus 8. Otherwise, the display of the OnePlus 8 Pro will look as beautiful as the OnePlus 7 Pro and OnePlus 7T series, thanks to the 90Hz screen refresh rate.

Another major change that you’ll notice in the OnePlus 8 series of smartphones is the exclusion of the pop-up selfie camera. Instead, the company is going to adopt the punch-hole design, which is a famous design in Samsung Galaxy S10 series and Note 10 series.
