Good news for everyone who loves the The Sims series! The Sims 4 is currently completely free for PC and Mac users right now.

The offer runs until May 28th and yes, you get to keep the game afterwards.

All you need to get started on your The Sims journey is an Origin account, which is completely free if you don’t have one already. You can then get The Sims 4 either through the Origin launcher itself or by clicking here.

Note: If the Origin launcher won’t let you download the game for free (for example, if it only has ‘buy as gift’ as an option), use the browser instead!

In this journalist’s honest opinion, The Sims 4 is a very worthy instalment in the overall The Sims series. The game and its DLC bring something new to the series by letting your Sims be controlled by their emotions and gives players more creative freedom when creating Sims.

The Sims 4 also has a laptop mode, which means that if you’re a humble laptop user like me, your laptop won’t melt and explode when it tries to run the game.

The only problem with The Sims 4 is the cost of its expansions and DLC packs. Origin allows you to build your own bundles so you can save some money, but it’s still a tad expensive overall.

(However, I might just be a little jaded by the fact that I bought the entire original The Sims series for just £40 many many years ago.)

Despite this, The Sims 4’s base game is an extremely worthy game all on its own and you don’t need the expansion packs to enjoy it. Get it here while you can!
