Rafael Rivera, one of the developers of the ChevronWP7 unlock tool has posted a graphic showing the effect of their new software. I am still amazed on how people claim that it will encourage piracy while no one ever says a peep about the IOS or Android jail breaks. The developers have clearly stated their stance in regards to piracy. From what I have read and understand about the ChevronWP7, it allows users the same access as developers, to deploy and test their software without having to go through the marketplace. Microsoft has yet to allow unlocking functionality for all countries so this tool is a life saver to small or individual teams of aspiring developers who don’t yet have access to the marketplace. There is also an argument that the tool is denying Microsoft the $99 yearly fee in revenue they charge developers for the privilege. As far as I know, developers will still eventually have to pay the fee  in order to get their apps published in the Marketplace.
