Super Mario Maker 2 is a gigantic game for Nintendo Switch, but its file size is anything but.

After a recent Mario Maker direct, we thought that the upcoming create-your-own-platformer would have an utterly frightening file size.

With pre-loading for the title already live on the Nintendo Switch eShop, fans have noticed that Mario Maker 2 only comes in at a tiny 2.8 gigabytes. Despite including a story mode, new art styles, new enemies and mechanics, it’s barely bigger than the original game’s 1.4gb size.

Super Mario Maker 2 have two editions on the Nintendo eShop. If you’re looking to pick up the Nintendo-exclusive platformer, you can get the standard version for $60 or the game plus 12 months of Nintendo Switch Online for $70.

With more and more NES games coming to Nintendo Switch Online, that last bundle is a decent offer. However, Nintendo still needs a little more incentive for most online customers.
