Spider-Man PS4

A blog post from the official PlayStation blog announced that the 1.14 update for Spider-Man on PlayStation 4 is out now, complete with two free ‘fantastic’ new outfits for everyone’s favorite arachnid-themed avenger.

The suits are based off the Fantastic Four series, with the blue-themed Bombastic Bag-Man suit coming complete with a paper bag to hide Spidey’s real identity, while the Future Foundation suit sports a striking black and white theme.

The outfits celebrate Spider-Man’s history with the Fantastic Four, as explained in the blog post from Christos Gage, writer for Spider-Man on PlayStation 4. The webbed crusader and the formidable foursome go way back, all the way to 1963’s Amazing Spider-Man #1, where Spider-Man’s attempts to join the team resulted in a brawl.

The Bombastic Bag-Man outfit pays homage to the time the Fantastic Four helped Spider-Man rid himself of the symbiote that would eventually become Venom, leaving Spidey in nothing but his underwear. He wound up borrowing an official Fantastic Four costume and, in lieu of a mask, the Human Torch gave Spidey a paper bag to wear.

The Future Foundation suit celebrates the time when Spidey successfully joined the Fantastic Four who, at the time, were calling themselves the Future Foundation and dressed all in monochrome.

Both suits are available for free with the 1.14 patch, which should be available for all players now.
