Sony's PlayStation State of Play stream: What to expect

Sony is set to return with its much-anticipated State of Play stream on February 12, 2025, at 2 p.m. PT/5 p.m. ET. This event will run for over 40 minutes and will focus on upcoming PS5 games.

While Sony hasn’t revealed exact details, there’s plenty of speculation on what might be shown. Titles like Death Stranding 2, which hasn’t seen a new trailer in over a year, are likely to make an appearance, as it’s expected to release in 2025.

Ghost of Yotei, another game set for 2025, could also show up, though it was only recently announced and may not be ready for a full reveal yet.

Aside from these guesses, there are many other potential surprises in store, which has fans buzzing with excitement. Another rumor also says that a Hellblade 2 reveal might be coming, while others suggest a shocking Xbox announcement might make an appearance at a Sony event.

A lot of exciting things are happening at Sony in the past few months. The Japanese tech giant’s shares have reached their highest level in almost 25 years, surpassing ¥3,517 ($23.02), a new record for the company thanks to its recent leadership restructuring.

Though, Sony said in January that it’s limiting the release of monthly PS4 games and the addition of new titles to the PS4 Game Catalog. PS4 players will still have access to games they’ve previously redeemed, but future additions will primarily be for PS5.
