Remember Sony Xperia? It looks like the company is planning a grand comeback to the smartphone world at the MWC 2019. The company is having a rough time with its smartphone division, thanks to the value for money Chinese brands.
However, it looks like the company is making a grand comeback with not one but three Xperia smartphones. A new leak has revealed the complete details of the new devices including the pictures ahead of MWC 2019. Sony will be launching Xperia 1 which will be their 2019 flagship along with Xperia 10/10 Plus and Xperia L3 which will be mid-range and budget devices respectively.
Starting with Xperia 1, the device will be powered by Qualcomm’s top-of-the-line Snapdragon 855 processor, coupled with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage (which can be increased up to 512 GB using MicroSD). The device will come with a 21:9 Cinema-Wide screen with a 6.5-inch 4K HDR OLED panel. For protection, the Xperia 1 will come with Gorilla Glass 6 and will carry an IP68 water and dust resistance certification. The device will also carry a triple camera setup at the back comprising of three 12-MP cameras. The smartphone will be capable of recording 4K HDR videos in 21:9 cinema format. It will also carry a 8-MP camera for selfies. To power everything, Sony Xperia 1 will come with a 3,300mAh battery with fast charging support. The device is priced at CHF 1,099 and will be available in June.
Moving on to the mid-range Xperia 10, the device will come with 6-inch full HD+ display with an aspect ratio of 21:9. The device will be powered by Qualcomm’s octa-core Snapdragon 630 processor, along with 3GB of RAM. The smartphone will offer 64GB of storage (further expandable up to 512GB using microSD card slot). The handset will feature a 13-MP primary shooter, along with a 5-MP secondary camera. Like Xperia 1 this will also support video recording in 21:9 format and bokeh photography. For selfies, the device has an 8-MP shooter and a 2,870mAh battery to power the device.
The Sony Xperia 10 Plus will come with a bigger 6.5-inch 21:9 display with full HD+ resolution and will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor, coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable storage. The handset will sport a dual 12-MP + 8-MP camera setup at the rear with double optical zoom and bokeh effects. For selfies, the device will feature an 8-MP camera. This smartphone will be powered by a 3,000mAh battery. The Xperia 10 will be priced at CHF 399, while the Xperia 10 Plus will be priced at CHF 499. Both the smartphones will hit the market in the beginning of April.
Last but not the least, the Sony Xperia L3 will feature a 5.7-inch HD+ display and will come with the dated Android Oreo out-of-the-box. The smartphone will be powered by a MediaTek 6762 processor, coupled with 3GB of RAM. In the camera department, the handset features a dual 13-MP + 2-MP rear camera setup and an 8-MP front camera. The device will come with 3,300mAh battery. The Sony Xperia L3 will be priced at CHF 199 and will be available starting early-April.
