Sony is shutting down its PlayStation Stars loyalty program in June 2025. The company made the announcement on May 21, stating it plans to replace the program with something new after a full internal review.
Launched in 2022, PlayStation Stars offered digital collectibles and rewards for completing campaigns or buying games through the PlayStation Store. It was free to join, but required a PlayStation Network account. Users earned points that could be redeemed for PSN wallet funds or select games.

Sony has now confirmed that players won’t be able to access PlayStation Stars starting June 24, 2025. The company will remove access to earned digital collectibles on the same day. However, users can still redeem their points through June 24, provided they act before the program shuts down.
Sony did not explain why it’s ending the program, only that it’s evaluating “new ways to build loyalty.” The PlayStation Blog post says the company is “reimagining” its strategy and will share updates once it has something concrete.
