It’s been 10 weeks since Anthem received its early access release and today the game receives its 1.1.0 update. However, there’s some key things missing.
Lead Producer Ben and Head of Live Services Chad detailed what was going on in a Reddit post.
Update 1.1.0 includes some new content, such as a new Stronghold called ‘The Sunken Cell’, access to the Forge from anywhere in the world, the ability to launch a new expedition without loading into Fort Tarsis, and access to contracts without having to actually pick them up. The complete patch notes can be found here.
However, there’s also going to be a bit of a delay for other features. Ben and Chad cite that there’s ‘more things to fix and improve than [they] planned for’, but that means that Anthem players won’t yet have access to the following features:
- Mastery System
- Guilds
- Legendary Missions – Phase II
- Weekly Stronghold Challenge
- Leaderboards
- Some Freeplay Events
- Cataclysm
The Cataclysm is possibly the most important addition that’s being delayed, as it’s set to bring new challenges and rewards and advance Anthem’s story. Ben and Chad say that more details will be available in May.
The duo also say that loot and progression systems need to be improved and more information on that will be shared when it’s available. They’re also planning on adding a Player Feedback Environment to the game, where players can test out major feature and give feedback before they’re rolled out to everyone else.
There’s currently no word on when the delayed features will be made available. You can read the Reddit post in its entirety here.
