While Qualcomm and Microsoft are yet to officially release the first generation of Windows 10 on ARM, Qualcomm already seems to have started working on its next-gen processor. In a document that was released (but now taken down) as part of its legal battle with Apple, Qualcomm has listed some of the components and processors owned by the company. The document included most of the other Qualcomm Snapdragon processors, but it also included the Snapdragon 845 (SD845) as you can see below. The document also lists a couple of other processors, including the Snapdragon 440, Snapdragon 652, and the Snapdragon 653.

Now of course, there isn’t a lot of details about the Snapdragon 845 as of yet but the processor is expected to sport four Cortex A75 cores and four Cortex A53 cores. The Snapdragon 845 probably won’t be revealed until next year, and we will likely get to know all the new specs and performance advancements of the processor over the last-generation later this year.

With OEMs expected to introduce new Windows 10 on ARM devices powered by the Snapdragon 835 later this year, there’s no doubt that the Snapdragon 845 will power the next generation of Windows 10 on ARM devices. The processor could be even more interesting if Qualcomm packs enhancements specifically for the Windows 10 on ARM platform to offer better performance for PCs powered by the processor.
