Microsoft has opened its its first store in Scottsdale, Arizona on the 22 October.  The store, which is meant to show-case Microsoft’s best of breed solutions, had a rather small Windows Mobile contingent.

The small display featured the Samsung Intrepid, HTC Imagio, HTC Tilt 2 and the HTC Pure, and was not particularly inspiring.

The lack of a compelling display likely reflects the lack of engaging consumer features of the user interfaces of the devices, unlike for example the hypnotizing UI on the ZuneHD, and indicated one aspect Microsoft needs to fix to enable them to draw crowds to their phones the way they were drawn to their Windows & PC’s.
