Fortnite Season 8 is here and with it comes banana skins, pirates, and a strange new island in the sun.

According to an article from Polygon, there’s some sort of Weezer x Fortnite collaboration going on. There’s a jukebox on an island in Creative Mode that apparently only exists to play Weezer songs.

Sadly, there’s no crazy conspiracy theories here. The jukebox is most likely some sort of brand collaboration to promote Weezer’s 2019 releases, the Teal Album and the Black Album.

Tweets from Weezer and frontman Rivers Cuomo all but confirm this.

Weezer are no strangers to pop culture or to Fortnite. Rivers Cuomo has spoken of how much he and his daughter enjoy Fortnite before.

There’s also the iconic music video for their single Pork and Beans. The video incorporated popular memes of the time and various YouTube personalities, including Charlie the Unicorn, the dramatic chipmunk meme, Liam Kyle ‘Kelly’ Sullivan, and Chris Crocker.

Pork and Beans also got a remixed video in 2009 which included additional footage from sources such as Potter Puppet Pals, Leeroy Jenkins, and Badger Badger Badger.

That version of the video ended with the viewer being ‘rickrolled’.

With that mystery almost solved, you can find us on an island in the sun. We’ll be playing and having fun.
