MWC 2019 is in full swing and we have already seen all kinds of crazy technology from companies around the world and just when we thought we have seen the craziest things, SanDisk and Micron popped up with 1 TB MicroSD cards. I guess someone should tell the guys at SanDisk and Micron that the world is now preferring cloud storage over local storage.
Coming to the cards, SanDisk claims that its card can reach 160 MB/s read speed versus 100 MB/s for Micron. Micron does claim that its card beats SanDisk’s write speeds by 5 MB/s reaching up to 95MB/s. However, companies pretty much are done with MicroSD Cards (not you, Samsung) so it’s strange that SanDisk and Micron invested time and money into the 1 TB cards.
While we are on the subject of money, SanDisk MicroSD card will set you back for a whopping $449.99 and will be available in April. There’s no word on when Micron’s card will be available or how much will it cost.
