Samsung has filed for another patent which shows an interesting design ideology from the Korean giant. While Samsung has been far away from the notch culture, the company might add a notch to their upcoming devices.

The new patent titled “Electronic device including housing having at least on through hole” was filed by Samsung in April this year and was published by the USPTO on October 11, 2018. The patent shows a water drop notch to house the front camera with all the other sensors housed inside the frame of the device. Since the notch houses just the camera, it will allow Samsung to make a small notch on the top with all the other sensors embedded inside the frame of the device. Last month, Samsung trolled Google in a tweet saying “you can land a plane on it” which referred to the massive notch on the Pixel 3 XL.

With Samsung nearing to the launch of Galaxy S10, it seems unlikely that we will see the patent being implemented in the S10. That said, there’s a chance that Note 10 might carry this design with Samsung’s iconic infinite display.
