A new Samsung wireless charger has just passed through the FCC.

Labelled the EP-P5200, it is a successor to the EP-N5100 pictured above.

The listing does not reveal a lot of details, except that the charger will accept 12v and 2.1 Amperes of power, but this is enough to see that the device is an upgrade on the EP-N5100’s 9V 1.67A input rating.

It is however identical to the Samsung wireless charger duo (EP-N6100) which offers a maximum output of 15 watts per coil. 15 watt is the same as the maximum allowed by the Qi standard now, suggesting however that Samsung will not be offering brand-new experimental standards like 40 watts which is currently in development.

Of course we will have to wait for Samsung’s Unpacked event to see exactly what the new Samsung Galaxy S10 series will support. That event is set for the 22nd February. Until then keep an eye on the site for the latest leaks.
