A few months ago there was a rumour that Samsung was working on a tenth-anniversary smartphone that would push the boundaries by being all screen and lacking any buttons, to be replaced by pressure-sensitive areas.

Today reliable Samsung leaker Ice Universe posted the above render to give us an idea of what the device would look like.  On the left is the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 10 and on the right the mystery device, the cancelled Project “R6”

While part of the A series of devices, the handset would have been powered the Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 855 processor.

Ice Universe had earlier reported that Samsung cancelled the project after Huawei’s issues with the US government, which was expected to remove that company as a competitive threat.  With those issues mostly resolved, Huawei is expected to feature a similarly aggressive “waterfall” bezel-less screen design in their upcoming Huawei Mate 30 Pro handset.

Some people have commented that the bezel-less buttonless design would have created a difficult to use and fragile device. What do our readers think of the design? Let us know below.
