Samsung is the king of flexible displays, and in a new patent, they show these displays can find application in more than folding smartphones.

The patent, filed only July 2020 patent, describes a smartphone which has a 100% screen to body ratio, even round the back and top. Samsung says they hope to achieve this either by draping the device in a single flexible screen or multiple screen segments.

The screen would be protected by a transparent shell which would form the body of the handset.

Samsung sees all kinds of neat applications for the technology, such as displaying the weather in the morning or adapting like a chameleon to your local environment, using the handset camera.

LetsGoDigital and Giuseppe Spinelli (aka Snoreyn) have rendered the patent into an extremely attractive device.
