SamFirmware, who is a good source of pre-release Samsung ROMs, have just tweeted that Samsung’s new Windows Phone 7 handset will feature a 1.4 Ghz processor and support NFC.

They also mention the device has a 3.7 inch screen, making it likely they are talking about the rumoured Samsung Omnia W, which according to earlier leaks have a 512 Mb RAM, 3.7 inch screen, and 5 megapixel camera, decidedly low-end specs for 2011, not to mention 2012.

Having a 1.4 Ghz processor and NFC will go some way to make up for it, and if it is wrapped up in a sleek and slim shell it may well be a worthy successor for the Samsung Omnia 7 after all.
